helping send kids to camp

I had the pleasure of attending the "Ontario Here & There Art Show" at the Toronto Evergreen Brick works. This Taylor Statten Camping Bursary Fund raises money each year to be able to send kids in need to camp. This year they sold paintings and woodwork by Canadian artists of Canadian landscapes to help support.

The evening was a huge success with raising over $15,000! Lindsey Deluce was there as well as her team from CP24 to capture what was happening on this special evening. Below are some images I snapped of the night and at the bottom is where you can keep up in touch and find out about the next event.

Below I'm with Annie who went to a Taylor Statten Camp!

She was a great date this evening and she knew so many of the places in the paintings too!

blogpodium 2013

Each year I look forward to BlogPodium for many reasons - I am able to meet and reconnect with great people, there is so much to learn about the benefits of blogging, there are lots of great opportunities to network and my most favourite is looking at the stack of pretty new business cards I acquire from the day!

Congratulations to Jen Flores from Rambling Renovators on a fantastic 2013 BlogPodium!

We Create Hoopla did a fantastic job creating beautiful accents around the space!

How amazing is this "Welcome Friends!" banner?!

Love this idea to display business cards!

Sarah Richardson was the keynote speaker which I was most thrilled about. She spoke honestly and had a few tips and tricks up her sleeve for us. My most favourite quotes from Sarah were:
  • When I was a kid, if I was sent to my room, I would just rearrange the furniture.
  • Always be kind and nice to people.
  • Trust your instincts - if it doesn't feel right, it likely isn't.
  • If you're not comfortable in your home, no one ill be.
  • When they walk in, clients should feel like they have taken a deep breath and can't wait to enjoy their home.
  • You should have a signature style.
  • I have learned what I know by doing it!
The fantastic Deb McCain + Sarah Richardson

Do you recognize the girl on the left in the PARA Paints image below?!

Congratulations Deb on your 12th wedding anniversary AND winning a leaf blower from Home Depot

Anna With Love snapped a photo of me taking a picture of me taking an Instagram picture of Deb

susie's birthday at weldon park

Today is my best friends birthday and I along with lots of our friends were able to surprise her! In case you're wondering where you have heard her name before, Susie is the person I travelled around Europe with earlier this year for 2 months!

Weldon Park is a new bar which opened at the end of this summer on College street in Toronto. They were so accommodating, they gave us bottles of champagne to help celebrate Susie's birthday, a section of the bar so we could all be together and had bowls of candy everywhere for us to nibble on.

This bar is the place to go to if you love dancing, good food + drinks, great music and a small yet spacious place to enjoy an evening with your friends.

Thank you Wesley and Jeff for making this such an incredible night!

tea with sarah richardson

Last Friday I spent the afternoon with Sarah Richardson and 20 other bloggers as we sipped on delicious cocktails from Pluck Teas and got to know each other. We were invited into her office which was bright, open and filled with big beautiful pillows from her new fabric line with Kravet. Sarah's fabric line is exactly what you would imagine it to be - colourful, classic and totally Sarah.

I didn't realize until now that I was taking everyone's pictures and didn't get any with me in it - hopefully someone snapped one!

This vintage gold table from The Jacaranda Tree absolutely breathtaking!

All of the bloggers received a tote bag made out of Sarah's new fabric - such a sweet gift!

Don't forget to watch Sarah's new show Real Potential this Thursday at 9:00pm + 9:30pm on HGTV!

elegant happily ever after wedding

Alyssa and Steven Terpstra had the perfect happily ever after wedding as they exchanged vows in front of 135 guests on July 7, 2012. This stunning couple looked adorable with nothing but love in their eyes on their special day with a magical setting at the Art Gallery of Hamilton. From beginning to end, this wedding was exquisite with a lovely colour pallet and simple decor. The happy couple welcomed a daughter a few months ago named Coco! Congratulations on the start of your beautiful family!
